Hello! Easy Dog Food Recipies!

Hello! Easy Dog Food Recipies!

When you choose to make your own dog food, you may just be saving it's life. It is a known fact that commercial dog food contains toxins that can be extremely harmful to your dog. Now I am not saying that all of the dog food you see in the store is bad, but wouldn't you feel better knowing exactly what your dog was eating?
One of the best ways to help your dog have a long healthy life-span, is by simply controlling what it eats. There are a ton of home made dog food recipes for German Shepherds as well as other dog breeds, that will make your dogs go wild (and keep them feeling their best). These recipes for healthy dog food meals contain all-natural ingredients that are free of preservatives and additives that can be harmful to man's best friend.
One of the great home cooked dog food recipes that your dog will absolutely love, is a delicious chicken meal. You will need: 2 chicken thighs or breasts (skinless), 1 stalk celery - sliced, 3 peeled and halved carrots, 2 potatoes that are peeled and cubed, 2 cups uncooked rice and 5-6 cups of water.
Put the chicken into a pot of cold water. Add the celery, carrots and potatoes, and some salt to add some flavor. Let it all simmer for around two hours, or until the chicken becomes tender. Add the rice and let everything cook in low heat for about 30 minutes until the rice absorbs most of the liquid.
Take the pot off of the burner. (Be Careful not to get burned), and take the meat off the chicken bone. When the chicken meat is in the pot, stir until everything is well mixed, and then let it all cool down before serving it to your dog.
Another one of my favorite home made dog food recipes for German Sheperds is a mouth-watering beef mix. The ingredients are really simple. All you need is 2.5 kgs of ground beef (or lamb), brown rice, broccoli stalks and 3 potatoes.
Fry ground beef, in a pan until golden brown. Boil 4-5 cups of water then add the broccoli. Add the potatoes to the frying pan with the beef. Mix everything together in the pot, add pepper and serve with the brown rice.
Don't forget the gravy! - literally - Add more flavor to your recipes for healthy dog food with this awesome gravy. The ingredients are: 1 boneless and skinless chicken breast, 4 cups water, a cup of flour and 2 eggs (beaten). Boil the chicken breast for about half an hour, then separate the meat. Add some flour to the chicken broth, use a whisk to remove the lumps. Add the beaten eggs. Cook until the mix is thick. Use a food processor to puree chicken meat, then add to the gravy. Refrigerate.
What meal would be complete without the desert? Make your own dog food frosty treat that will make your dog go bananas! Here are the needed ingredients: 32 oz vanilla yogurt, 2 tbsp. Peanut butter, 1 mashed banana or a jar of baby food (fruit). In home cooked dog food recipes like this, all you have to do is blend everything together, and you get a delectable treat for your furry friend.
These are just a few great recipes you can use to make your own dog food. As you can see, they are hassle-free and you will not have to worry about the health of your dog anymore.

Dog Food - Easy Ways To Make Dog Food At Home

Dog Food - Easy Ways To Make Dog Food At Home

You love your dog, so for the good of his health you've decided to make your own dog food. If you're on a budget, and have a large dog, making your own dog food may be less expensive than buying commercial dog food.
You've got the choice of feeding your dog raw food, or of cooking it. If you cook it, you can incorporate the carbohydrate in the form of brown rice into the meals.
Your Dog's Main Meal - Easy Dinners
Protein (meat or poultry) shouldn't form more than 20 per cent of your dog's diet. Your vet can give you precise proportions of protein to carbohydrate according to your dog's size, age, and lifestyle.
Brown rice is a nutritious carbohydrate, and once they get used to it, most dogs like it. You can cook up a big pot of brown rice, with a half pound or a pound of minced steak or cooked chicken and make sufficient dog dinners for a week. Add a few carrots, and pumpkin in season. Occasionally, use oatmeal instead of brown rice.
Feeding Your Dog A Raw (Uncooked) Diet
While it's true that no one cooks a wolf's dinner, animals in the wild don't live as long as domesticated animals. But if you feel that raw meat, with some added grated vegetables are best for your dog, get veterinary advice before you start giving your dog vast amounts of raw meat. This is because it's difficult to get the protein balance right if you're feeding raw meat.
Supplements - Does Your Dog Need Additional Vitamins And Minerals?
Whether you feed your dog commercial dog food, or homemade, supplementing his nutrition is a good idea, especially for young dogs, for older dogs, and if you're considering breeding a litter of puppies.
It's best to get your supplements from your vet, because he knows your dog, and knows what the dog's special needs are

Who Makes Dog Food?

  ?Who Makes Dog Food

Learning to make homemade dog food has become a popular trend over the past six years. Pet parents have become concerned over frequent recalls and dangerous preservatives in commercial food. This has led to an increased interest in easy dog food recipes.
Cooking for dogs is remarkably easy and economical. Most of the ingredients can be found in any grocery store. Also, the best homemade dog food recipes can easily be adapted to feed the human members of the family, as well.
Many dog parents turn to homemade food after their cherished pet exhibits signs of illness from eating commercial food. This was certainly true in my case. My husky mix, Cody had trouble digesting commercial food. Every four or five days he would refuse to eat and had episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. In desperation, I searched for the best homemade dog food recipes. After switching him over to natural food, the digestive problems disappeared.
Another contributing factor in this trend is a growing distrust in the processed food industry. As pet parents seek organic, locally grown food for their dinners, they naturally want their pets to eat high quality food as well.
Making homemade food also allows you to cater to your dog's individual tastes and tolerances. For example, my dog has trouble digesting chicken. Most commercial food contains some form of chicken no matter what flavor is listed on the bag. By making his food, I can eliminate the chicken and use turkey instead, which he adores.
There is a debate over whether it is better to feed dogs with raw meat, eggs and vegetables or if the food should be cooked first. Many pet parents think that Salmonella and E.coli contamination is caused by unsafe meat and egg handling practices in large, commercial facilities. Therefore, they reason, if the meat and eggs come from small, local, organic farms they may be safely eaten raw. Others contend that it is always unsafe to consume raw meat and eggs. The best way to determine which method is safe for your dog is to consult your veterinarian.
The best homemade natural dog food recipes have a balance of protein, calcium, fat and carbohydrates. If your dog is dairy intolerant, you would need to use recipes that derive calcium from plant sources, such as broccoli, kale and almonds. However, the most important ingredient is the love with which it is made. As we all know, love doesn't come in a bag!
